Thank you for applying for one of the Lightridge High School Athletic Booster Club Athletic Scholarships.

Purpose

These Scholarships will be given each year to recognize the accomplishments of the eligible student-athletes who will be continuing their education at a university, college (community, junior or 4-year) or accredited trade school.

Number of scholarships and amount

The awarding of scholarships is one of the primary missions of the LABC. The number and amount of scholarships are subject to change from year to year. There are four scholarships (2 male/2 female) awarded each year for $1,000. The LABC is proud of the ability to award these scholarships and thanks the active members and volunteers for their part in accomplishing this goal.

Eligibility

Scholar Athlete of the Year (1 male/1 female): This scholarship is open to Seniors only.

• Student or Parent must be a current member of the Lightridge Athletic Booster Club or must join the LABC on or before April 10. Membership fee $35.00
• You must have participated in (and completed in good standing) at least one season of a varsity VHSL sport at Lightridge High School (no exceptions.)
• You must be continuing your education at university, college (community, junior or four-year), or accredited trade school.
• You must have a cumulative, weighted grade point average of 3.8 or higher and provide a copy of your transcript.
• You must complete the application and essay (350 words) Essay: What makes you a leader on the field AND in the classroom?

Athlete of the Year (1 male/1 female):

• Student or Parent must be a current member of the Lightridge Athletic Booster Club or must join the LABC on or before April 10. Membership fee $35.00
• You must have participated in (and completed in good standing) at least two seasons of a varsity VHSL sport at Lightridge High School (no exceptions.)
• You must be continuing your education at university, college (community, junior or four-year), or accredited trade school.
• You must have a cumulative, weighted grade point average of 3.5 or higher and provide a copy of your transcript.
• You must complete the application and essay (350 words) Essay: How do you feel that participating in sports in high school will benefit you in the future?
